It’s already 2017, and April 18 will be here before you know it! On this webpage you can find resources to help you file your taxes. The library does not have any paper forms or instruction booklets for either the federal or state income taxes. We encourage you to file electronically for free or print out the forms below.

The information and hyperlinks provided on this page are for informational purposes only. The St. Bernard Parish Library provides neither tax-related instruction nor advice and may not be held liable for any damages or penalties incurred by the misuse of any information on this page.

Free Online Tax Filing

Now you can file BOTH your federal and state taxes totally free online. The IRS and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) bring you MyFreeTaxes, an online tax filing service for individuals or families with a combined income below $64,000 in 2016. Visit to prepare your taxes online on your own or with the assistance of IRS VITA-certified volunteers. If you get stuck, volunteers are available by phone to assist you.

Other free online tax services are also available from the IRS Free File webpage. Be careful to check what each service offers because some do NOT offer state filing, and limit filing to lower income levels, or to just the elderly or military.

Paper Forms

If you still wish to file using paper, the following links below can be used to view and print the most common forms needed. If you need a specialized form not shown on the list, please click the flag to visit the main government tax site.
